EuroLink Virtual International School

The it’s learning learning platform is being used to support an international Comenius project, which bears the acronym "ELvis". "ELvis" should not be confused with the "King of Rock ´n´ Roll" as it stands for "EuroLink Virtual International School". A group of schools from the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, England and Italy that successfully applied for European Union, Lifelong Learning Programme, funding have enabled schools from Lithuania, Romania, Canada and New Zealand to join the project as affiliates.

High ambitions at Akademiet High School

“We will be the best and most forward-thinking high school in Norway” – this is the ambitious vision Akademiet Bergen has set for itself. Modern teaching methods are part of the project, and according to Managing Director Terje Risa it’s learning is the “pedagogical glue” that contributes to keeping teaching at Akademiet at a high level.

Invitation to join international community

Amt für Lehrerbildung and the Ministry of education in Hessen, Germany, invite other it’s learning users to join them in the international community area of the platform. “I hope everybody will see this as an opportunity to network and share experiences with schools internationally”, the project director Daniela Bruse says.

it’s learning motivates students in France

Having used it’s learning over the past three years, English teacher Magali Raffin concludes that the learning platform is a major motivator for her students – independently of their level: “The students work more and better with it’s learning”, she says.

Manor Primary School

Will and Sue Eight months into their learning platform adventure, teachers and pupils of Manor Primary School in Devon are all using it’s learning on a weekly – if not daily – basis. For teachers, the learning platform has become an essential working tool; for students, a fun place to work, play, share and learn.

Lutterworth College

Andy Runciman We first saw it’s learning at an educational show in Birmingham. At this time, we were undertaking a mini procurement process and were researching different VLEs. it’s learning stood out thanks to its simple look and feel. Out of all of the VLEs that we considered, we felt it to have the most un-cluttered and carefully planned interface.

Parkstone Grammar School

Parkstone Grammar School is an outstanding and heavily oversubscribed selective grammar school for girls with specialist status for science. Re-sited in Poole, Dorset in 1937, the school has 1050 pupils and over 100 members of staff. Recently in April 2008 PGS took on a second specialism in Modern Foreign Languages.

School managers leading the way

Helene Kløcker In 2008 schools in the municipality of Arendal saw a significant rise in the number of logins to it’s learning. The reason? According to Glenn Kristiansen, project manager for “ICT in schools”, it was undoubtedly down to the course “Becoming a good ICT manager” organised by it’s learning for school managers. Enthusiastic participants were quick to follow up the course with specific measures in their respective schools.

Use it's learning and save the planet!

Globe From February 2009 students worldwide will have the opportunity to join the first international online course on climate change, offered by the Faculty of Life Sciences (LIFE) at University of Copenhagen. The course is developed by an interdisciplinary team of teachers including four members of the Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change (IPCC). One of them is also the Senior Climate Adviser to Barack Obama.

Social e-learning

The social aspect of e-learning is very important, concludes associate professor Anne Karin Larsen at Bergen University College. She has been working on e-learning studies for a number of years.
