itslearning features

itslearning consists of a number of different features which are especially tailored for the education sector. This page describes the most important functionality. Click the links below for more information, video tutorials and resources.

Mentor

A mentor is a teacher who has overall responsibility for a class or student. itslearning gives mentors access to a variety of information and reports which they can use in their work.

Mentor overviewMentors have different responsibilities depending on the school or organisation, but they are generally responsible for the educational wellbeing of an individual student or group of students. Often, the mentor gives the student guidance, and helps them overcome problems and liaises with parents and subject teachers.

The mentor needs to have a good overview of a student's performance, behaviour and grades. So, in itslearning, mentors are responsible for managing a student's individual learning plan, attendance, and behaviour, as well as the parent dashboard.

What do you call it?

Form tutor, student coach, counsellor. Different organisations use different names for the mentor role. So it's possible for each school or site to change the role's name in itslearning.
