Individual Learning Plans
The Individual Learning Plan (ILP) is a common platform for students, teachers and parents to set and track individual learning objectives.
The ILP links past, present and future, allowing students and teachers to:
- Evaluate past work
- Set current status
- Plan future work
- Set targets
As such, it is an excellent channel for home–school dialogue, providing a structure for meetings and linking to available documentation.

- Monitor student progress across ILPs
- Link to resources
- Link individual goals to learning objectives
- Choose visibility of comments
- Receive change notifications

- Set status
- Comment on progress
- Log activity
- Evaluate their own effort
- Reflect on their achievements
- Receive change notifications
The it’s learning ILP allows parents/carers to:
- View progress in the Parent Engagement Dashboard
- Review learning plans in parent–teacher–student meetings
- Stay engaged in their child’s education
