The Field Sales Consultant will meet and exceed sales objectives by promoting and selling itslearning products through professional sales techniques and long-term customer relationships. The Field Sales Consultant will target Local Authority and Academy Cluster Groups and must have a proven ability to close £100,000 plus contracts. The Field Sales Consultant is involved in all aspects of the sales process and will be expected to deliver and maintain high level customer relationships. This position is home office based and will report directly to the Commercial Director.

Main Tasks

  • Delivery of sales of the itslearning product, focusing at Academy Cluster and Local Authority level
  • Building and maintaining high level relationships with key influencers
  • Following up sales leads and converting them into new business sales
  • Meet and exceed set sales targets, while adhering to itslearning's sales rules of engagement
  • Make prospecting a part of the regular routine, ensuring that new prospects are being added to the pipeline on a consistent basis
  • Manage a complex, enterprise solution sale with a 6-to 18-month purchasing cycle
  • Ability to upsell and sell additional products/services into existing clients
  • Ensure renewals of existing revenues are in line with annual budget expectations
  • Develop long-term customer relationships with specified existing customers through regular communications
  • Effectively and efficiently employ itslearning human resources at appropriate stages in the sales cycle; matching level for level, to grow and advance the sale
  • Work with the Commercial Director to develop new campaigns and marketing initiatives for existing customers and new prospects
  • Support and attend exhibitions and conferences in your region
  • Regional bid management and completion
  • Ensure continuation and growth of all existing business
  • Develop relationships with Regional Broadband Consortium (RBC) teams

  • Key Skills

  • Existing in-depth knowledge of the education sector
  • Competent IT skills (i.e Microsoft Office suite)
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com CRM or similar
  • Knowledge of educational themes as they relate to the use of ICT in education and learning
  • Strong commmunication skills both written and oral
  • Ability to plan and implement tasks effectively
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Good skills in self organisation
  • Ability to self organise and work with limited supervision
  • Persuasive, encouraging and motivating
  • All candidates will need to be CRB checked
  • Location

    This position is full time and will be based from home in the North of England, ideally within easy reach of the M62 corridor, Yorkshire and Lancashire. Regular travel will be required to our offices in central Birmingham and Gatwick for monthly sales meetings with some international travel to our head office in Bergen.
