Basic Training Courses

To help teachers learn the basics of using their learning platform, we are putting together a series of regional one day courses hosted in local schools for £125 per teacher.

What you will learn

itslearning Basic Pedagogic Training Courses are delivered as a full day session aimed at all teachers that use the learning platform with their classes.

Delegates will learn about the basic features of itslearning and how they can be applied pedagogically to enhance teaching and learning.  We encourage delegates to come to the session with digital resources that they intend to use for teaching when they are next in the classroom.  We will show you how to upload these materials and create engaging and motivating pages for your learners.

Areas Covered

  • Overview of key features
  • Using itslearning to support teaching and learning
  • Creating a Course
  • Populating a Course with content and users
  • Populating a Dashboard with content
  • Exploration of engaging learning tools
  • Adding learners
  • Assessment for learning
  • How to access our free support service

In order to book your place on one of the basic training courses, please print off and complete the Basic Training Order Form below remembering to include a school purchase order to cover the cost of the course (£125 per delegate) and fax it back to Christian Harkus on 01293 474020.  We will then confirm your booking by return.

Course Venues and Dates

  • dates tba

Please note that each host school has agreed to supply food and refreshments during the day so we ask delegates to pay the school £5 each on the day to cover the hosts costs - this is in addition to the cost of the course.

If there is not currently a course in your area, we are looking to roll out this programme nationally and are actively seeking schools that would be willing to host in return for a free seat on the course.  Please email training.uk@itslearning.com if you would be interested in hosting a course stating which county/LA you are in.

What to bring to the course

Our objective is for you to leave the training day with some useful content created on your VLE that you can then use in the classroom on the following day. To that end, we encourage delegates to bring to the course digital resources, web links, files, etc relating to a topic(s) they will be teaching immediately after the course. We can show you how to create assignments (written tasks for pupils that you then mark online) and tests/quizzes (these are marked automatically based on correct answers supplied by the teacher) so feel free to bring along material for these as well.
